Went for a morning session so that I'd be back in time for the footy. The Lee-on-Solent weather station was reporting 25 knots NW so was a bit surprised on turning up at Meon at 10.45am to see only a moderate F4-5. Had left the big kit at home so hoped the Bee and 6.0 would be OK.

Tried to persuade some mates to come to Hillhead as well, but they wanted to go flat-water freestyling on the lagoon at Calshot (tide was high). So I was on me lonesome at the start, but a few other people turned up soon after I arrived.

The Bee/6.0 combo was fine at the start. Then the wind really started to pick up. Thought I might have to change down, but whacked on some more downhaul on the 6.0 and replaced the 30 cm fin with the 24 cm, and I was just about right for the rest of the session. Wind actually then eased off a bit which helped. Was feeling a tad knackered after yesterday so didn't really go for much, just some great powered up blasting and nice gybes. Some of my gybes really clicked today, especially on the inside - was almost doing them on auto-pilot, and just about planed out of a couple.

Thought I would quit whilst I was ahead so came in before 1pm. Was having a good time but the wind was dropping off a bit, and my left shoulder was giving me some grief - think I must have landed on it badly and twisted it a bit after a quality Superman exit from a failed duck-gybe attempt at the start.

5 sails in 8 days....and maybe more wind next week :)
